Welcome to Peter J Cervantes
I'm a first-generation Mexican-American writer from San Diego whose work emerges from the intersection of queer identity, cultural trauma, and the reality of healing in communities taught that silence equals survival. My debut book, "The Road Back to Me: Six Sacred Tools for Queer Healing Through Shadow, Breath, and Truth," documents my journey from near-death at thirty-seven to wholeness at forty-two—proof that recovery is possible even when trauma is complex and family support is nonexistent.
I write for LGBTQ+ people of color who've been searching for healing resources that actually understand their experience, who need practical tools for breaking generational cycles while building authentic lives. My work serves anyone tired of choosing between honoring their heritage and accessing mental health support.
Coming spring 2025. Connect with me on Instagram [@peterj.cervantes] and Substack [peterjcervantes.substack.com] for updates on the publishing journey and honest reflections on transforming pain into medicine for others.
"Peter's writing is like having that brutally honest friend who's been through hell and made it out the other side—he tells you the truth about healing without the spiritual bypassing bullshit. His raw authenticity and practical wisdom hit different when you're doing your own work."

About Me
Based in San Diego, I believe in creating community through healing by transforming the silence that's literally killing LGBTQ+ people of color into raw, unfiltered storytelling that proves recovery is possible even when trauma is complex and family support is nonexistent. My work serves people who've been told their pain is too messy to heal, offering practical tools alongside honest memoir that integrates Western psychology with indigenous wisdom while building bridges between individual transformation and collective liberation.
